Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use stocksounds.io, why we collect it, and your rights. We keep data collection to a minimum and do not use advertising or cross-site tracking.
Who we are
The data controller for this website is JUQBOX LIMITED (company no. 11351774, registered in England and Wales), trading as StockSounds. You can reach us about privacy at [email protected].
What we collect and why
Licence & contact requests. When you submit the licence-request or contact form, we collect your name, email address, the track you're interested in, and the project details you provide. We use this only to respond to you and arrange a licence. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries. These messages are stored on our server and emailed to us; we keep them only as long as needed to deal with your request and our records, then delete them.
Purchases. Payments are handled entirely by Gumroad, which acts as the seller/merchant of record and as its own data controller for your payment and billing details. We never see or store your card details. We receive limited order information (such as which track was bought and an order reference) to deliver your download and licence. Site usage / popularity. If you accept our cookie notice, we record anonymous, aggregated engagement (which tracks are previewed, downloaded or licensed) to power the "popular" ordering. This does not identify you and is stored as counts, plus a small marker in your browser's local storage. Legal basis: your consent. See our Cookie Policy.
Technical data. Like any website, our hosting and security providers automatically process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and pages requested, to serve the site and keep it secure. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a safe, functioning website.
Who processes data for us
We use trusted providers to run the site and respond to you:
- Cloudflare — website hosting, CDN and security.
- Railway — hosting for our request/engagement backend.
- Supabase — database for anonymous engagement counts.
- Resend — sends us the email notification of your request.
- Gumroad — checkout, payments, VAT and order delivery.
- HAAWK / Identifyy — administers YouTube Content ID for our music (this concerns the tracks, not your personal data).
Some providers are based outside the UK/EU (for example in the US). Where that happens, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
